The Spanish Federation of Mountain and Climbing Sports (FEDME) and the Spanish Federation of Associations of Friends of the Camino de Santiago have reached a collaboration agreement with which to offer a new assistance service to all pilgrims who come every year to the Jacobean route.

FEDME Camino de Santiago is a digital card that offers travel assistance insurance with different coverages and prices depending on the needs of each pilgrim who can hire it for 7, 15, 30 days or whatever the tour will last. A new assistance service with which the Spanish Federation of Mountain Sports and Climbing (FEDME) and the Spanish Federation of Associations of Friends of the Camino de Santiago want to give greater coverage to those who travel through any of the routes that lead to the Galician city of Santiago.

The FEDME makes available to pilgrims its app «Step by Step» to obtain a digital card. The process is as simple as downloading the app, available for both Android (https://play.google.com) and Mac (https://apps.apple.com) and registering as a user. Once you are a user, simply access the «Events» section to locate the FEDME Camino de Santiago digital card. The FEDME website has an access to the app to access from the computer itself (https://fedme.es/app-paso-a-paso/).

The Insurance brokerage Innovac has designed the insurance coverage and will be responsible for managing this insurance program after the agreement reached with the Spanish Federation of Mountain and Climbing Sports and the Spanish Federation of Associations of Friends of the Camino de Santiago.

The coverages and dates of use of the assistance insurance can be customized, so that the prices can be known before making the payment and thus know the scope of the contracted coverages.

In this way, the Spanish Federation of Associations of Friends of the Camino de Santiago, a national organization that brings together the majority of «Associations of Friends of the Camino de Santiago», existing in Spain and will put all its infrastructure to publicize this
new service.

The FEDME, in addition to putting at the service of all pilgrims its app «Step by Step» will allow registered users of the digital card FEDME Camino de Santiago to have access to the FEDME advantages enjoyed by those who hold the FEDME federation card.
